cycling hobos

Lately the loading of gear on our bikes has been getting hairier and hairier. At the beginning of this trip, all our things were neatly packed into panniers, but somehow we have accumulated extra items (for example, two big bags of cornflakes - gluten free ones which were half price) which we tie to bungy cords on the back racks. By the time we add our drying clothes and towels to the pile we look like real cycling gypsies. Today my load was so patchy and chaotic I felt like the garbage lady on the movie The Labyrinth:

This afternoon we sat down and sorted out our things and now I think we'll be back to slightly neater loads. But still no match for the lycra-clad, shiny-gear European cycle tourists. Ah well!
